VA Home Math keeps public calculations browser-based and offers optional account storage for a Financial Profile.
Information handling
Calculator math runs locally in your browser. We do not collect lead information. Standard hosting logs may include technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access.
Accounts
If you create an account, AWS Cognito processes your email address, password credential, verification state, and authentication metadata. VA Home Math does not store or display your password. Account creation is optional and public calculators remain available without signing in.
Optional Financial Profile
Anonymous users may explicitly save profile information in this browser's local storage. Signed-in users may explicitly save the same profile to private cloud storage associated with their account so it can be used across devices. We do not automatically upload an existing browser profile; migration requires a clear user choice, and the browser copy is retained until the user clears it. Profile and account deletion controls are available from the Account page.
Data minimization
The profile may contain military service context, income and benefit amounts, debts, and housing assumptions. Do not enter Social Security numbers, DoD IDs, VA file numbers, bank credentials, exact medical diagnoses, or other information the profile does not request.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious usage analytics to measure page views and calculator interactions. Events may include the calculator identifier, category, page path, and link destination. We do not send entered income, debt, home price, ZIP code, BAH, entitlement, credit, or other financial values to analytics.
Advertising
Display advertising may be enabled in the future. An advertising provider may use cookies or similar technologies subject to its own policies. Advertising is currently disabled unless configured by the site operator.
Service providers and retention
AWS Amplify, Cognito, AppSync, and DynamoDB provide authentication and owner-scoped profile storage. Profile data remains until you clear it or delete your account, subject to provider backup and operational retention. If advertising, additional tracking providers, or optional lead capture materially changes these practices, this policy and any required consent controls will be reviewed before activation.
Changes
This policy may change as the service develops. The published version will describe the practices then in effect.
